With food so readily available and produced to be highly palatable, leading to overeating, it can be easy to gain weight and hard to lose it.
People have different reasons for wanting to lose weight. Some may have been advised to because of health concerns, some suffer with discomfort due to pain or breathlessness, and some people want to lose weight just to feel better in themselves.
We are all unique. What works for one person in their weight loss journey might not work for another. I assess all of your health and dietary information and create a nutrition plan that is personalised for you. I also aim to help you understand how and what to eat to optimise your health.
Whether trying to lose weight or maintain your desired weight, my view is that food is wonderful and should be enjoyed. I don’t believe that we should be fully restrictive when trying to lose weight. Eliminating all enjoyable foods isn’t realistic and is more likely to make us give up trying altogether.
On the other hand, without changing some eating habits it may be hard to maintain or lose weight, and it might also impact our health. For this reason, I think it is important for us to find a balance and understand a way of eating healthier in the long term, and not just looking at short term dieting solutions.
